Overview
NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant at our Kalamazoo, Michigan location. NPH is the national leader in providing medical and neurobehavioral care to patients in acute psychiatric distress. You will be joining a team of rock star staff who provide exceptional, patient-centered care and understand our patients are always our number one priority! The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) supports the delivery of high-quality patient care in a behavioral healthcare setting. Under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN), the CNA assists patients with daily activities in alignment with their individualized care plans and performs basic patient care within the scope of practice. The CNA maintains a safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
- Provides compassionate, patient-centered care in a behavioral healthcare setting, assisting patients with daily activities according to their individualized care plan and under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
- Key responsibilities include monitoring and recording vital signs, assisting with hygiene and mobility, providing therapeutic support, and ensuring a safe, orderly environment.
- Supports admissions, discharges, and patient transport, maintains accurate documentation, and collaborates with the care team to enhance patient outcomes.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage patient interactions in a calm and professional manner are essential.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's degree or some college coursework in psychology, social work, or social services field preferred.
LICENSE: Current, active CNA license.
EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in a behavioral health setting preferred. At least 2 years of experience in a direct care role strongly preferred.
