What are the responsibilities and job description for the Primary Therapist position at Neuroscience Institute?
Competitive salary commensurate with experience within the range $45,000 - $80,000.00 annually depending on credentials and experience. Mental Health, substance abuse and adolescent experience preferred.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for patient caseload and will provide substance abuse and mental health counseling in the form of group, individual, and family therapy.
- Group therapies include but are not limited to educational groups, didactic, and experiential.
- Conduct pertinent assessments such as bio-psychosocial and develop a multifaceted treatment plans with measurable and short-term attainable goals.
- Excellence in maintaining communication with client’s collateral support such as the family and the referral source.
- Excellence in meeting the clinical documentation requirements on time such as clinical progress notes, treatment planning, and all other clinical documentation per standards set forth by entities such as DCF.

What the ideal candidate has:
- LMHC or LCSW Preferred.
- Master’s Degree in social work, psychology or related human services field.
- Two years of work experience in mental health field
- Licensure to practice clinical discipline preferred,
- Demonstrates proficiency in communication and written skills
- Knowledge of State and Federal statues regarding patient confidentiality laws (HIPPA)
