Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including outpatient clinics and hospital environments. This position requires proficiency in medical terminology and the ability to assist with medication administration, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care during their visits.
Duties
- Direct patients to exam rooms during clinic days to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Remove staples or sutures as needed as directed by the physician.
- Assist the physician with various procedures as required.
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, weight, and height, and accurately record this information in patient charts.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
- Enter patient and office data into computer systems to maintain accurate records.
- Prepare and fit orthopedic bracing devices and durable medical equipment (DME).
- Monitor and respond to patient messages effectively.
- Provide support on the clinical phone line for all patient-related clinical inquiries.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support the smooth operation of the clinic.
- Perform daily clinic prep (upload imaging/reports to patient chart, confirm patient appointments etc.)
Requirements
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to patient care.
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and healthcare staff.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in healthcare.
