Neurotech Pharmaceuticals is an innovative biopharmaceutical company located in Cumberland, RI and Needham, MA, within Greater Boston’s vast biotechnology landscape. Our drug delivery platform - Encapsulated Cell Technology (ECT) platform is designed to deliver genetically modified therapeutics to slow the progression of chronic retinal diseases. Our most advanced program is delivering a neurotrophic factor to treat the orphan disease Macular Telangiectasia Type 2 (MacTel). For over two decades, we have pioneered the development of our proprietary Encapsulated Cell Therapy (ECT) platform, designed to address chronic retinal diseases. Our lead program focuses on Macular Telangiectasia Type 2 (MacTel), a rare retinal disorder, leveraging ECT's innovative approach to provide sustained, targeted treatment directly to the eye. We are excited to expand our company from a research organization to a commercial entity following recent positive rendering from the FDA.

Neurotech is seeking an Associate Director of Patient Marketing, who will play a crucial role in preparing the market for and delivering the successful launch of our asset, NT-501. Key responsibilities will include executing all patient marketing initiatives in line with brand strategies and objectives, including direct-to-consumer strategy, media plan, content development, and analysis. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with Patient Advocacy, Sales, Corporate Communications, Commercial Operations, Market Access, Medical, and PRC, as well as other internal and external partners.

Job Requirements

  • Contribute to the development of the patient engagement strategy spanning early launch through post-launch, including annual brand planning and positioning development
  • Own the understanding of the patient journey and leverage insights to inform patient segmentation and channel preferences.
  • Evaluate and identify patient market related to MacTel and key needs for activating patient/physician discussion related to the brand and disease.
  • Ensure alignment with overall brand strategy and healthcare professional (HCP) brand initiatives, and partner with the HCP brand lead to inform inclusion of patient perspective.
  • Lead planning and execution of direct to consumer (DTC) advertising for disease education, brand awareness, acquisition, and conversion initiatives through a variety of channels which may include customer relationship management (CRM), direct marketing, in-office, print, search engine marketing (SEM), digital media, and mobile.
  • Leverage strong marketing expertise to engage and build a MacTel community across social media platforms and other digital channels
  • Develop campaigns by partnering with agency partners to create positioning, messaging, core messages and story flow
  • Own patient launch tactics from concept through PRC approval
  • Generate the insights plan, validate business opportunities, and optimize omni-channel marketing mix for patient, balancing investment and monitoring performance of individual tactics.
  • Partner closely with Patient Services and Market Access to optimize patient initiation and retention programs, ensuring timely onboarding and continuity of care
  • Develop and manage program budgets, vendor contracts and manage projects to the agreed upon timelines, budgets, and scopes

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 7 years of product marketing experience required
  • Minimum 5 years of Pharmaceutical Marketing or Promotions, or relevant commercial experience including Sales, Marketing, or Market Access

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated proactive, creative and entrepreneurial approach
  • Launch experience for rare indications and ophthalmology experience preferred
  • Experience developing, implementing, and working on successful multichannel campaigns
  • Highly curious and analytical mind, with strong ability to synthesize, glean insight and propose direction from market and scientific data; demonstrated ability to build successful and innovative strategy
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally to drive business results in a heavily matrixed, fast-paced environment; demonstrated success in partnering with the Medical Affairs and Sales organizations
  • Outstanding project and budget management skills and experience managing multiple vendors, marketing partners and agency partners
