Terms of Employment: 9 Months / 198 Days* (FLSA Status: Exempt)
Nevada Classical Academy Elko (NCAE) is a brand new school, opening in August 2025. This Job Description is for Year 1 only.
Position Summary: The teacher will provide daily student instruction via appropriate educational curriculum based on the Core Knowledge and the Hillsdale K-12 Program Guide: An American Classical Education. The teacher will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that aligns with the school mission, encourages effective student learning, and supports school goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Administer appropriate state-mandated curriculum meeting Nevada Academic Content Standards, which is aligned with Core Knowledge and the Hillsdale K-12 Program Guide: An American Classical Education.
2. Ensure the opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment.
3. Create and maintain a positive and orderly instructional and learning environment based on the school mission and virtues.
4. Develop and implement the components of an effective lesson for instruction.
5. Collect and evaluate student data.
6. Analyze student progress and provide appropriate instruction.
7. Provide a classroom management/discipline plan addressing safety.
8. Ensure assessment regulations and guidelines are followed
9. 10. Ensure developmentally appropriate skills and activities are implemented.
10. Work professionally with administrators, staff, parents, and community.
11. Participate in other job-related duties and activities related to the position as assigned.
Position Expectations:
1. Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to provide instruction in an instructional setting.
2. Work cooperatively with students, parents, peers, administration, and community members.
3. Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals.
4. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
5. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives, to meet the needs of all students.
6. Participate as an active member with other faculty and staff.
7. Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and school policy.
8. Manage student attendance and grades in Infinite Campus.
9. Maintain and improve professional competence.
10. Communicate effectively both written and orally.
11. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the School Leader.
*Paid Training / Preparation Expectations
June: Attend 3 days (Tuesday – Thursday) at NCAE, June 10 – 12, 2025
Independent Study: Watch selected videos and suggested reading, to be provided
July: Attend 3 days (Tuesday – Thursday) at NCAE, July 15 – 17, 2025
Independent Study: Watch selected videos and suggest reading, to be provided
July/August: Curriculum Intensive in Las Vegas (travel and per diem paid by NCAE), July 28 – Aug 2, 2025

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Valid teaching certification for elementary education
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Experience in literacy and math education
- Knowledge of curriculum development and early childhood education
- Ability to work with diverse student populations, including special education needs
- Familiarity with learning technologies and standardized testing practices
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
