Nevada County Superintendent of Schools is the County Office of Education for Western Nevada County, California. Education and Experience A combination of training and experience, which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities, may qualify. We reserve the right to determine if a candidate meets the qualifications. • Paid or volunteer experience in a public or private childcare and development program or other experience • Graduation from high school, G.E.D. or equivalent • Possess or eligible to obtain a California Child Development Assistant Teacher permit through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Qualifications if not in possession of Child Development Assistant Teacher Permit: o At least 2 semester units in early childhood education or child development each semester following initial employment until 6 units have been completed. o Three of the six semester units must qualify for School-Age Emphasis course work. (official transcripts will be required at the end of each semester to verify completed courses). Nevada County Superintendent of Schools Office OTHER REQUIREMENTS: These requirements will have to be met prior to beginning employment and will be requested upon job offer acceptance. • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States • DOJ Fingerprint and Background clearance • Child Abuse Index clearance through California Department of Social Services • Megan’s Law sex offender registry clearance • Valid Tuberculosis (TB) clearance • Record of Vaccination for Flu (annual), TDAP, and MMR –in accordance with SB 792
