What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community School Liaison - Short Term Substitute position at Nevada County Superintendent of Schools (NCSOS)?
This is a short-term temporary position for an employee on leave. The substitute fulfilling the role will act as a receptionist and perform data entry and clerical duties.
The Community-School Liaison (CSL) will be located at the Family Resource Centers (FRC’s) located at Nevada County Schools to improve school support systems and offer coordinated resources for students and families. The CSL will work to unify our county's schools, programs, activities, community agencies and other stakeholders to develop an integrated, sustainable system of support for students and their families through resource education and providing access to available resources. The CSL will work with parents and children to support their needs using the Protective Factors Framework for family strengthening and effective family support service delivery. A combination of training and experience, which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities, may be qualifying. We reserve the right to determine if a candidate meets the qualifications.
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
• Completion of an Associate’s Degree with major course work in education, psychology, social work, early childhood education, human development or other closely related field.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience working with children, youth, families and/or teachers and experience in education, early childhood programs, mentoring or similar social services program.
• Intermediate level desirable: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher
