Job Description
We are an established private specialty surgical prosthodontic practice with an emphasis on Dental Implants and Full mouth reconstruction in Las Vegas. We are a specialty facility currently seeking a full time, long term, motivated Dental Assistant member. Applicant must be professional, energetic, dependable, self-motivated and a multitasker with excellent communication skills. A team player committed to high quality care.
Ideal candidate will be a quick learner who welcomes challenges and is able to learn and retain a great deal of information on a daily basis. Person must have initiative, be a self-starter, be warm and welcoming. Duties include but are not limited to interacting with patient, referral offices and team members. The duties of a dental assistant are among the most comprehensive and varied in the dental office. The dental assistant performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills. Responsibilities may include:
· Clinical experience include work chair side as doctors examine and treat patients.
· Prepares and arranges needed tools and instruments for scheduled procedures.
· Hands instruments and materials to Doctor and keep patients’ mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices.
· Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, prepare trays of instruments for surgical procedures, and instruct patients on postoperative instructions, take dental X rays/ CT SCAN.
· Candidate must have excellent communication with patient’s, referral offices, Management, and Doctor.
· Computer literacy is required
· Assisting the prosthodontist and oral surgeon during a variety of treatment procedures.
· Asking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse.
· Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol.
· Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment.
· Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
· Helping assist in cosmetic and therapeutic injectable treatments like Botox and Filler.
· Taking pre op, procedural and post op photos.
· Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health and their implants (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing/water piking and nutritional counseling).
· Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth).
· Communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies).
· Helping to provide direct patient care in the dental specialties of prosthodontics and oral surgery.
