We are looking for a dynamic, passionate, customer-service driven, and organized Certified Medical Assistant to join their healthcare team. You will perform a combination of various administrative and clinical tasks. Administrative responsibilities include greeting patients as they arrive, answering phone calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and updating and filing patients’ medical records. Clinical duties include taking patient medical histories, recording patient vital signs, and preparing patients for examination. When necessary, you will also administer injections.
Essential Functions:
- Greet patients and gather contact information
- Answer phone calls, respond to patient questions, and take messages
- Schedule new and follow-up appointments
- Prepare rooms and ensure supplies are ready, ordering more when necessary
- Assist in procedures and examinations
- Take and record patient vitals
- Administer injections
- Educate patients on health conditions, treatment, and medications
Required Competencies:
- 1 years of experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital
- Must have experience with patient care
- Certified Medical Assistant license
- IV Therapy certification
- Familiar with medical terminology
- Inventory management experience
- Experience using eClinical Works (EMR)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Work environment:
This position will be working out of the Little Elm, TX clinic and from time to time may also work at the Prosper, TX location. The ideal candidate will be able to work Monday through Friday from 10 am - 6 pm and 1 or 2 Saturdays per month from 9 am - 1 pm.
Physical demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stooping, bending, squatting and kneeling.
- May be required to stand 100% of the time during appointments.
