What You’ll Do
As the Geotechnical Engineering Manager, you will lead geotechnical engineering projects from concept to completion, including design, investigation, analysis, and expert consulting. Your work will directly contribute to critical infrastructure projects and reinforce the firm’s reputation for technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Geotechnical Design & Analysis: Deliver and oversee designs for foundations, retaining walls, slope stabilization, embankments, and earth-retention systems.
- Site & Subsurface Investigations: Lead field investigations, lab testing, and data interpretation to identify geotechnical risks and recommend solutions.
- Expert Witness Services: Support high-profile legal cases with technical analysis, objective evaluations, and expert testimony on complex geotechnical issues.
- Project Leadership: Manage scope, schedule, and budget on diverse projects while collaborating with civil, structural, and environmental teams.
- Client Engagement: Build trusted relationships, represent the firm with confidence, and contribute to business development efforts across the region.
- Team Mentorship: Inspire and develop junior engineers through hands-on leadership, technical guidance, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred – tuition support available)
- Active P.E. license (California and/or Nevada strongly preferred)
- Deep technical experience in geotechnical engineering and design, including soil mechanics, slope stability, and ground improvement
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., Geo5, LPile, AutoCAD)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
