Perform the functions of Performance Assurance Subject Matter Experts for the Nuclear Material Control & Accountability (NMC&A) Assessment and Performance Assurance program.
Key Responsibilities
Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.
Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4 , “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709 , “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

Annual salary range for this position is $77,001.60 - $115,502.40.
Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.

Perform the functions of Performance Assurance Subject Matter Experts for the Nuclear Material Control & Accountability (NMC&A) Assessment and Performance Assurance program.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure NMC&A assessments are planned, scheduled, conducted, and coordinated, including documentation; conducting analysis of PT and assessment results to determine issues or areas of improvement; and recommending and documenting corrective actions and tracking all corrective actions to closure.
- Must be able to plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) NMC&A performance assurance requirements, procedures, and criteria.
- Coordinate the scheduling and performance of assessments with other company organizations, national laboratories, contractors, and Federal oversight.
- Develop and maintain applicable assessment plans based on DOE Orders and Manuals, company requirements, and NMC&A Plans and Procedures.
- Report data and conduct trend analysis on NMC&A assessment and PT results.
- Consult with managers and technical staff to ensure nuclear material safeguards assessment requirements are explained and understood.
- Perform other duties assigned by Management.
Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.
- Bachelor's degree in field related to the position or equivalent training and experience plus a minimum of 5 years of progressive related experience.
- Preferred experience in management assessments, performance testing, or internal/external audits.
- Knowledge of nuclear material processing or production, safeguards, and/or accounting desired.
- Prior experience in internal/external auditing and safeguards and/or security survey activities highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of safeguards and security DOE Orders and National Nuclear Security Administration Policies on nuclear material control and accountability, information security, and physical protection.
- Ability to use computer software, including MS Office and Outlook applications Ability to coordinate assessments with other facilities, organizations, or projects.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
- The primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site (locate 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, NV).
- Work schedule for this position will be 4/10’s Monday – Thursday (subject to change).
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that included random drug testing.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
