Medical Records Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Records Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining medical records within a healthcare setting. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and systems, as well as experience in a medical office environment. The Records Specialist will ensure that all patient information is accurately recorded, stored, and retrieved as needed, while adhering to confidentiality and compliance regulations.

Duties

• Manage the organization and maintenance of medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Process incoming patient records and update existing files in accordance with established protocols.
• Retrieve and prepare medical records for healthcare providers as requested.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements regarding patient confidentiality.
• Assist in the implementation of electronic health record systems, providing support to staff during the transition.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve discrepancies or issues related to medical records.
• Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.

Experience

• Previous experience in a medical office setting is required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and record management systems is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for effective collaboration with healthcare staff.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
