What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Nursing Assistant - PRN position at Nevada Regional Medical Center?
Essential Functions:
- Assists in daily living activities such as serving meals, turning or repositioning patients, providing water and nourishment between meals.
- Grooming and bathing patients with low mobility.
- Maintain patient stability by checking vital signs.
- Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, and doctors.
- Provide and empty bedpans.
- Lift patients into beds, wheelchairs, exam tablets, etc.
- Answer patient calls.
- Examine patients for bruises, blood in urine or other injuries/wounds.
- Clean and sanitize patient areas.
- Change bed sheets and restock rooms with necessary supplies.
Skills Abilities:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.
- Ability to complete competency CPR and First Aid.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical equations.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to distressed patients, families or visitors.
- Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions.
Physical Demands:
- Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per day.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Requirements:
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate or certificate from accredited nursing program/college.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Class C Basic Life Support (CPR) within 90 days of employment and renewed biannually.
- Must adhere to the NRMC appearance and attire policy.
Preferred Requirements:
- One year of general, acute Medical/Surgical Nursing or Skilled Nursing.
