Educational Advising Coordinator

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Campus Instructional Director, the Educational Advising Coordinator will provide support under the specific functions of Implementing Curriculum, Student Interventions, Special Programs Implementation, and Student Progress. Other duties, tasks, and support as assigned. This position is a generalist and requires someone with a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and production across the primary functions above.

Essential Functions

• Implement Curriculum: Study Skills; COMPASS; Transitions; Intro to College Course; Grading; Attendance; Makeup Assignments/Classes; Class CANVAS, WorkKeys and ACT Prep Curriculum (EdReady)
• Student Interventions: Conducting individual meetings with students/parents; Developing make-up plans with students and parents for absences or missed deadlines; Monitoring scorecard progress; Monitoring grade progress; Guiding college and career planning; Coordinating tutors; Conducting SSR student contact sweeps, Tutoring and supporting students; Contacting parents for behavior, attendance, positive reasons, and grade concerns; and Guiding class scheduling
• Special Programs: Supporting/identifying and/or implementing the Network and Site Administration with 504, IEP, Homeless & ELL, and state required plans, Testing and proctoring responsibilities, School improvement plans, goals reporting, and student & survey data reporting
• Student Progress: Tracking and attendance; Monitoring progress in: BYU, NSHS, test prep programs, and college courses; Reviewing academic plans and parent performance reviews; Tracking college credits; Participating in parent grade pickup; Collecting, grading, scanning, and tracking items for Student Portfolios & Scorecards
• Duties, Tasks and Supports: Help ticket responses; Participation in trainings & professional development; Support with school/student activities, new student recruitment/registration

Qualifications

• Hold or be able to acquire, by time of appointment to the position, a Nevada Secondary High School Substitute Teacher License.
• High degree of interpersonal, teaching, planning, organization, communication, and public speaking skills
• Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace.
• Must be eligible to pass federal and state background checks, including fingerprinting.

Total Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $52,000 - $65,000
• Care Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, LTD.
• Incentives: Annual performance bonus pay structure of up to 7.5% of base salary and annual salary movement based on satisfactory evaluation.
• Paid Time Off: Two (2) PTO days accrued per month and federal holidays - Independence Day, Labor Day, Nevada Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Family Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, and Juneteenth. Staff also participate in a week-long Clarity Break in June where all school locations are closed and all staff are off.
• Other: No state/local income tax and state retirement (NVPERS) 100% paid with no Social Security deductions.
