Job Description

Nevada State University actively maintains an open pool of qualified individuals to be selected on an as-needed basis by the department to fulfill part-time temporary instructional needs and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Nevada State invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty for in-person, online or hybrid courses in ALS 101N: College Success and CEP 123: College and Career Success. After completion of CEP 123 or ALS 101N, students are able to: a) practice transferable skills to promote academic and life success including academic writing, educational technology, effective note taking, and more, b) identify and/or utilize campus resources, and c) discuss the benefits of diversity and engagement in our communities.

Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.

Adjunct faculty members are compensated at the rate of $1000 per credit hour. Courses range from 2-3 credits.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree.
• Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

• Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching.
• Previous teaching experience.
