Duration: June 23rd- August 28th (end date flexible)
Compensation: $30/hour

NGi is a leader in interior and exterior wall systems, specializing in metal stud, drywall framing, acoustical ceilings, fireproofing and prefabrication. We’re offering an exciting internship program designed to give hands-on experience and mentorship in project management and construction processes.

Internship Program Overview:
The program is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience from Project Inception to Closeout. Interns will gain exposure to project documentation, budget tracking, change management, and communication practices while working alongside experienced professionals in both office and job site settings.
General Intern Expectations
Project Phases & Documentation:
- Gain an understanding of project phases, roles, and responsibilities.
- Assist with creating thorough and accurate submittals and closeout documentation.
- Submittals: WE3, Palmdale, LATTC
- Closeout: CEE & EPIC
Project Information & Changes:
- Learn how to manage project changes (RFIs, ASIs, Bulletins, etc.) using tools like PlanGrid.
- Understand how changes by Owners, Architects, or General Contractors (GC) impact the scope of work.
- Develop communication skills to relay information effectively to field employees (PlanGrid, email, phone).
- Draft clear and concise Requests for Information (RFIs).
Budget Tracking:
- Understand cost codes and subsections.
- Track labor, timesheets, and project costs accurately.
- Monitor and project margins while tracking and pricing internal changes.
Core Responsibilities
- Create submittals and closeout documentation.
- Track and post RFIs using PlanGrid.
- Create Change Order Requests.
- Generate and manage RFIs.
- Track field time for projects like LATTC and The Lot.
Internship Program Structure
Week 1: Intensive Classroom Training
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

- Framing, Hanging, Taping, Plaster/Waterproofing 101
- Preconstruction Process: Design Bid vs. Design Build
- Estimating (OST Quick Bid)
- ACT/Ceiling Department Overview
- Prefabrication & Panel Assembly
- Plexxis Training
- Construction Scheduling & Last Planner System
- Design/BIM Overview
- Postmortems & PlanGrid Training
- Timekeeping & Payroll Introduction
- Leadership Development
Weeks 2–10 : On-the-Job Experience
Interns will be paired with a dedicated Project Manager/Coach for mentorship. This phase includes time at the home office and active job sites, offering real-world project exposure and the chance to apply classroom learning to live projects.
What We’re Looking For:
- Current student or recent graduate in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
- Strong interest in construction project management and field operations.
- Familiarity with tools like PlanGrid and Plexxis (preferred, but not required).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
