About the Role
NGi is seeking a skilled Construction Superintendent to oversee construction site operations from planning and development to project completion. This role ensures smooth project execution by coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, and maintaining quality control. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in interior and exterior finish wall systems, drywall, plaster, framing, fireproofing, and specialty acoustical ceilings. They will also serve as a key liaison, communicating critical project updates to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
- Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in the critical path.
- Ensure subcontractors fully execute and comply with their contracted scope of work.
- Lead meetings with general contractors, owner representatives, project managers, and directors.
- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure material and supply needs are met.
- Track project progress, manpower allocation, and resource management.
- Work with project managers to monitor expenditures and maintain budget adherence.
- Supervise quality control and material management.
- Resolve escalated project issues related to labor, materials, and schedules.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with foremen, project engineers, and general contractors.
- Travel as needed to support projects in different locations.
- Ensure project engineers provide adequate support to foremen.
- Be accessible during site operations or have emergency procedures in place.
- Maintain a neat and organized work area at all job sites.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10 years of experience in commercial construction (Preferred)
- 5 years of experience as a Carpenter Foreman (Preferred)
- Expertise in construction principles, techniques, and procedures
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects across various job sites
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and process improvement
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other construction management software
