About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Safety Coordinator to assist in the execution of safety initiatives on our projects. Under the direction of the Director of Safety, the successful candidate will lead safety teams, ensure compliance with safety standards, and address identified hazards and exposures. This role is key to maintaining a safe work environment for all team members and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Training: Conduct and coordinate training for employees regarding safety laws, regulations, safety equipment usage, and required OSHA certifications.
- Toolbox Topics: Assist Foreman in managing the Toolbox Topic Program, ensuring continuous safety awareness.
- Project Orientation: Oversee the Project Orientation Program, ensuring all personnel are appropriately onboarded with safety protocols.
- Safety Equipment: Manage and maintain adequate safety equipment supplies, including first aid materials, across the project site.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular jobsite safety observations and inspections to identify, prevent, and correct unsafe conditions or employee actions.
- Safety Coordination: Serve as a liaison between Nevell, General Contractors, subcontractors, insurance safety reps, unions, and safety agencies at the local and federal levels.
- Accident Investigations: Investigate and review the causes of accidents and injuries, developing corrective actions to minimize or prevent recurrence.
- Medical Care Support: Assist in ensuring that employees injured on the project receive appropriate medical care in a timely manner.
- Pre-task Planning: Support Foreman in daily sign-in/out processes and in morning pre-task safety planning when applicable.
- Field Operations Support: Assist with safety issues on-site, including pre-job safety plans, hazard corrections, and communications with project superintendents and managers.
- Safety Documentation: Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, and distribution of safety materials for the project.
- Subcontractor Safety: Manage safety for second-tier subcontractors working on the project.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as needed, in line with evolving company and project needs.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or a minimum of 2 years of relevant field experience.
- OSHA certification preferred.

- Project & Time Management: Ability to master project and time management in a fast-paced, noisy work environment.
- Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills to work effectively with a wide range of team members, including field supervisors, subcontractors, and project managers.
- Process Development: Ability to establish processes where no precedent or guidelines exist, ensuring safety protocols are in place and followed.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other job-specific technical software.
