Education Coordinator
Position Overview:
The Education Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the educational programming within our facility. This role involves collaborating with staff, residents, and school districts to create a supportive learning environment that promotes personal growth, academic achievement, and life skills development for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Design and implement educational curricula tailored to the needs of residents, incorporating various learning styles and modalities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with residential staff, therapists, and external educators to ensure a holistic approach to resident education to assist with implementing school work provided by each client’s Home School District .
- Individualized Support: Assess residents’ educational needs and create personalized learning plans, monitoring progress and making adjustments as necessary.
- Resource Management: Identify and procure educational resources, materials, and technology to enhance the learning experience.
- Family Engagement: Communicate with residents’ families about educational progress and encourage their involvement in the educational process.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure that all educational activities comply with relevant regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices in education.
- Community Outreach: Build partnerships with local educational institutions and organizations to provide additional resources and opportunities for residents.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in educational programming, preferably in a residential or similar setting.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
- Knowledge of best practices in educational theory and pedagogy.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and behavioral support strategies is a plus.
Certifications:
NYS Teaching Certification/and or Special Education grades 7-12
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
