Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage the bookkeeping team to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting for a diverse client portfolio.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior team members, ensuring continuous development and high-quality work.
- Set departmental goals and KPIs to improve efficiency, accuracy, and client satisfaction.
- Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles (GAAP) and client-specific requirements.
- Review and reconcile balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of client financial reports, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues.
- Client Management:
- Act as the main point of contact for clients regarding their bookkeeping and financial reporting needs.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, offering strategic insights and addressing their accounting concerns.
- Provide guidance on budgeting, cash flow management, and overall financial strategy.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously assess and improve internal bookkeeping processes and systems to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Implement automation and other tools where possible to streamline workflows and reduce errors.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting:
- Independently handle complex accounting issues, identifying solutions to challenges in financial reporting, system discrepancies, and client-specific needs.
- Troubleshoot issues related to accounting software, financial statements, or reporting errors, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Compliance & Best Practices:
- Ensure the bookkeeping division adheres to internal policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial regulations affecting clients.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or EA designation preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting, with at least 1 years in a management or leadership role.
- Proven track record in managing a bookkeeping team and overseeing client financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar).
- Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Independent & Self-Motivated: Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks without constant supervision.
- Problem Solver: Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve complex accounting and reporting issues.
