Procurement Manager

Summary of Position Mission
This position reports directly to the Plant Manager, and will be responsible for the management and oversight of sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain management for all raw materials, components and finished goods necessary to support over $80M in production and facilities operations. This position focuses high-quality standards, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance while managing relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely availability of products for production.
Primary Responsibilities
· Management of Procurement / Materials Management team members.
· Management of daily procurement activities including purchase order transactions, inventory reviews, supplier meetings and assessments.
· Selection and management of production suppliers for manufactured parts and related services (i.e., strategic sourcing and vendor management)
· Work across the organization to facilitate development and execution of inventory plans
· Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to mitigate risk, improve long-term competitive position, and minimize exposure to escalation of cost drivers.
· Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers in accordance with advanced procurement and competitive bidding strategies to achieve best-in-class results in cost, quality and delivery.
· Maintain and report on key performance indicators that support the objectives of the company.
Additional Responsibilities
· Collaborate with all other company functional groups as needed to support new product development efforts.
· Co-owner of the Company’s Purchase-to-Pay process: support development and implement procurement procedures and protocols consistent with Company objectives
· Act as the supply chain leader
· Develop cost savings strategies, annual budgets and monitor status to ensure the department does not exceed the budgeted commitments
· Resolve problems via root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions as needed
· Monitor and communicate key industry developments and trends (shortages, price escalations, etc.)
· Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
· Support and adhere to all ISO standards applicable to the Company.
· Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment directed by the Company at all times.
· Demonstrate complete working knowledge of firearms safety.
· Maintain and keep workstation and department area clean.
· Immediately report any maintenance and/or safety issues to Management.
· Demonstrate a positive attitude toward co-workers, other departments and the Company.
· Maintain respect, courtesy, and professionalism toward all co-workers and the Company.
· Communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and management.
· Actively participate and support the 5S process within the work area on a daily basis.

· Must have at least 5 years’ experience in supply chain management with specific experience in identifying, qualifying, developing, and maintaining domestic and global suppliers

· Strong MS Excel acumen and analytical abilities
· Bachelor’s[JH1] Degree (BS) in Supply Chain Management, or related business, finance or technical field such as engineering required or equivalent experience.
· Certified Supply Chain Manager accreditation is desired
· Strong track record of effective inventory planning, supplier management and cost management, utilizing a broad knowledge of principles and practices in a manufacturing environment
· Experience managing machine shops and casting suppliers required.
· Strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills.
· Must have demonstrated effective communication skills with customers and suppliers
· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office experience and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) system
· Highly organized to manage multiple product lines
· Strong leadership skills, integrity based, with team-focused attitude
· Must possess strong leadership, management and motivational skills with the ability to interface effectively with all functions, internal and external, of the company
· Sound analytical skills and ability to take responsibility for multiple projects to achieve goals and meet deadlines

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $135,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
