About the Position

The Legal Recruiting Manager is an integral part of the Recruiting & PD team and will collaborate with practice leaders firmwide to develop and implement strategies for lateral associate recruitment. Reporting to the Chief Recruiting Officer, the Legal Recruiting Manager will be responsible for managing all lateral associate recruiting. This position is currently a hybrid role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Chief Recruiting Officer to design and execute strategies for lateral associate recruitment.
  • Identify and seize opportunities to attract qualified lateral associate candidates, overseeing the entire hiring process with a focus on supporting the practice group structure.
  • Manage the lateral interview process, ensuring seamless coordination and maintaining proactive communication with candidates and search firms throughout.
  • Oversee and administer the attorney applicant database for purposes of applicant tracking and NALP reporting.
  • Manage and evaluate relationships with search firms and external vendors to enhance recruitment efforts.
  • Analyze market intelligence, industry trends, best practices, and innovations in legal recruitment. Compile detailed report sand leverage insights to ensure recruiting strategies align with practice group needs.
  • Directly supervise the Lateral Recruiting Assistant.
  • Develop junior team members by training, mentoring, and managing workflow.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Recruiting Officer on strategic projects as needed.
  • Provide support for lateral partner recruiting efforts as needed.
  • Provide support for professional development initiatives as needed.
  • Provide support for law student recruiting and summer associate program as needed.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to travel, attend events, and to work extended hours to meet deadlines and business needs
  • Leadership capabilities including organization, planning, problem-solving, decision-making, and maintaining discretion in managing confidential and sensitive information

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years of legal recruitment or professional services
  • Two years of supervisory experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of lateral associate program
  • Proficiency in MS Office, database management, and applicant tracking systems, with the ability to perform thorough analyses and generate comprehensive reports
  • Experience with viRecruit is preferred

Compensation

Allen Matkins is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a competitive compensation & benefits package. The anticipated base salary range for this full-time role is $150,000  - $185,000 per year. Actual salary will depend upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, job-related skills, qualifications, and location. 

The base salary range displayed on the job posting reflects the estimated range for new hire salaries for the position. The actual offered base salary will be determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, job-related skills and qualifications. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external business factors.

Salary : $150,000 - $185,000
