What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Child Care Worker position at New Alternatives, Inc.?
Swing Shift : 3 pm - 11 pm
Overnight Shift: 11 pm - 7 am
New Alternatives is seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join our team. New Alternatives works with children and youth ages 6 -12 year old's at their residential home site who have experienced child abuse. The applicant will gain experience working within a residential treatment setting and will learn the skills necessary for de-escalation, emotional support, and behavioral support with clients at a high level of care treatment placement.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related field is preferred.
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, proof of automobile insurance and have access to reliable automobile
- at least 6 months of experience working with children (volunteer work is acceptable)
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Provide support to the child and family
- Ensuring the safety and supervision of the clients.
- Assist in coordination of transportation of youth.
- Capability to establish and maintain appropriate boundaries with the child and family
- Applicant needs to have patience, compassion, and confidence to work with a population of clients have severe emotional dysregulation and behavioral instability.
- Maintain updated accurate daily log of services provided
