What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Agent position at New Bedford Housing Authority?
This is a highly responsible administrative staff position. The incumbent will perform a variety of administrative functions and tasks related to effectively meeting the statutory requirements of public procurement while maintaining the efficient operation of the Authority’s procurement office. The incumbent is responsible for the procurement of the Authority’s supplies, equipment, and contractual services, in addition to the safe, efficient, and effective receiving of purchased materials, supplies, and equipment.
At a minimum, the candidate must possess a high school degree but a college degree would be looked upon more favorably. The candidate must have successfully completed the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Public Contracting overview, Supplies and Services Contracting, and Design and Construction Contracting seminars and at have at least 5 years in public procurement experience including 2 years management or supervisory experience in Massachusetts.
