Day Program Activities Lead

Reports To: Curriculum Coordinator and Administrative & Program Support Manager

The Day Program Activities Lead is responsible for facilitating the daily curriculum, setting up and leading activities for clients and staff, and cleaning up at the conclusion of the day program. This position is Monday through Friday 7:45 am to 3:45 pm.

Responsibilities:

• Leads daily programs (circle time, moon room activities, crafts) with attention to the needs of the children.
• Give a 5-minute reminder to clients and staff to transition and clean up.
• Check the Moon Room before each group visits to ensure that the space looks inviting and engaging and that all materials are in their correct places.
• Maintain organizational systems put in place by the Curriculum Coordinator and ensure all items are put away daily.
• Arriving at 7:45 am - set up daily activities and put away dishes or toys left in the dish strainer from the previous day.
• At the conclusion of the Day Program, break activities down, wash any dishes accumulated during meal times, clean up and put away items in their designated areas. Vacuum the Moon Room.
• On Fridays, break down the Sensory Bins: bag rice for future use, items in the sensory bins need to be washed and sanitized.
• Ensure the Star Room is cleaned after each mealtime.
• Monitor inventory weekly and communicate needs to the Curriculum Coordinator.
  • Communicate needs for large requests/purchases to Kerry Partlow.
• Any ideas or requests for activities can be submitted to the Curriculum Coordinator and Kerry Partlow for review.
• Observe children's interests, intervene for safety, and enhance play with language, toys, and activities.
• Encourage and model social behavior and expectations.
• Work with staff positively and respectfully to coordinate center spaces and programming.
• Maintain positive interactions with children in groups and one-on-one.

Pay:

$20 - $22 per hour based on experience
