What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapist position at New Beginnings Today?
This position performs professional work involving the delivery of mental health and addictive disease services, including clinical supervision of lower, level clinicians or paraprofessionals. This position can oversee and administer a wide range of psychological evaluation/assessment, diagnostic, counseling therapy, crisis intervention, and/or case management services. Under the general direction of the Fully License Personnel, the therapist performs senior level professional intensity clinical environment. This position requires a broad knowledge of therapeutic processes and methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications: Therapist / ST*
- Possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychiatry, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Criminology or related field and
- 1-year of experience working with clientele suffering from MH/SA issues and their families.
- Must not have a record of felony convictions.
- Must maintain yearly professional liability insurance.
Minimum Qualifications: Therapist
- Must be licensed in the state of Georgia as a Psychologist, LPC, LAPC, LMFT, LAMFT, LCSW, LMSW, RN, CAC-II, or CADC-II. Opportunity to provide lower level clinicians supervision.
- Must be able to provide at least Supervisor/Trainee, Counseling or Therapeutic services.
- Must not have a record of felony convictions.
- Must maintain yearly professional liability insurance.
Essential Duties:
- Provides counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to consumers and families as appropriate; prepares treatment plans, discharge plans, monthly summaries, BIRP Note and provides crisis intervention and emergency services, as required.
- Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions, as appropriate for consumers in a crisis condition and for those with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED).
- Attend team meetings and submit appropriate documentation within requested timeframe.
- Maintain monthly clinical supervision, where applicable.
