We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and qualified Special Education Teacher to support and inspire students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), provide direct instruction, and collaborate with general education staff and families to ensure inclusive, supportive, and effective learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IEPs tailored to students’ unique needs in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Provide individualized and small group instruction to students with disabilities across a range of settings (e.g., inclusion, resource, self-contained).
Modify curriculum and adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate varying abilities.
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, aides, and other service providers.
Monitor and assess student progress using data and adjust instruction accordingly.
Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and IEP documentation.
Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers about student performance and goals.
Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and staff collaborations.
Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student learning and self-advocacy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
Valid teaching license with a Special Education endorsement (as required by state)
Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities (e.g., learning disabilities, autism, emotional disturbance, intellectual disabilities)
Strong understanding of IDEA, IEP process, and differentiated instruction
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting all learners
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with assistive technology or alternative communication systems
Familiarity with behavioral intervention strategies and data collection
Bilingual or multicultural experience
