We believe in providing exceptional veterinary care for every pet we see. We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The veterinary assistant provides support to veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks by cleaning and maintaining equipment, feeding, exercising, and grooming patients, preparing and sanitizing surgery suites, restraining and handling patients, and performing clerical and administrative work. A caring, motivated, and compassionate attitude, along with the ability to multitask, is essential for success in this position

You will be responsible for:
· Genuinely care for animals
· Taking pets out for walks- morning after surgery, during the day, before leaving for the night
· Clean dirty cages and kennels
· Putting canned food in fridge- date on can, lid on can
· Be sure all cages have a cage card- name of Patient, Owner name, Phone number
· Triaging patients, performing physical exams, and assisting in performing treatments.
· Maintaining the cleanliness of the hospital each day.
· Cleaning equipment, kennels, and facilities using chemicals and supplies.
· Keeping up on laundry for our animal’s comfort.
· Be comfortable handling dogs and cats.
· Follow directions by the Licensed Veterinary Technicians and DVM
· Operating and maintaining hospital equipment.
· Clean and disinfect all areas of the clinic
· Tidy pharmacy, refill prescription vials, dust shelves, and identifying outdated meds for LVT
· Having a good attitude.
· Must be able to work on your feet all day
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Experience Needed:
· High school diploma or GED.
· One or more years’ experience in the veterinary environment
· Able to perform lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion.
· Ability to work with or around sick animals
· Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work some weekends and holidays.
