The Director of Customer Solutions will primarily be responsible for leading the strategic direction, development and continuous improvement of New Braunfels Utility's public facing programs to include : One Water, Electric Vehicles (EV), and Distributed Energy Resource (DER). NBU has developed strategic outlines for these programs implementations. This position will support the development of needed staff, market research, policies and implement programs that can enable customer adoption of One Water, EV and DER solutions. This position will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and will also be responsible for the continued growth of NBU's Water Conservation, Energy Efficiency and Key Account programs.
The Director of Customer Solutions must possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills to create and cultivate internal and external working networks to accomplish the mission and goals of the organization. This is a hands-on position which will require a high attention to detail, superior communication skills and the ability to work within a cross-functional team of professionals. Candidates must have a service and results-oriented mentality to strategically plan, establish priorities, effectively manage staff, and to oversee projects & portfolios.
The candidate should have working knowledge across topics such as water conservation, residential solar, battery storage, One Water strategies, electric vehicles and energy efficiency.
One Water, EV and DER Program Development :
- Develops, coordinates and / or implements strategies to achieve NBU’s goals through interaction with cross divisional leaders, partner agencies, community stakeholders and other interest groups.
- Contributes to the development of areas short-term and long-term business plans including but not limited to, annual targets, identifying growth areas, new initiatives, and enhancing existing service offerings to align with a changing industry.
- Coordinates related activities of projects internal and external stake holders.
- Manages relationships.
- Works closely with key NBU staff to inform them and increase their understanding of initiatives to assist in successfully leveraging their knowledge bases.
- Possesses flexibility in approach, strong self-focus and willingness to adapt as necessary.
- Analyzes opportunities and makes recommendations on potential program strategies.
- Analyzes business processes and make positive change to improve the performance of the organization.
One Water :
Implements NBU’s One Water Roadmap and work to provide changes and updates to the roadmap as NBU programs grow.Maintains an awareness in utilities trends in One Water .Identifies opportunities to balance programs so that they build and promote the health of New Braunfels’ Community, environment and economy.Partners with NBU teams to identify and drive opportunities to reduce or rethink water usage so that it is managed holistically and sustainably.Serves as One Water facilitator for local NBU involved One Water planning groups.Management / Supervision Responsibilities :
Provides direction and support for the Conservation and Customer Solutions groups.Leads, motivates and facilitates cross-functional teams to commit to, and deliver results.Monitors and evaluates the performance of direct reports and personnel to ensure that established NBU procedures and policies are enforced, achievements are recognized, performance standards are met, and professional growth opportunities are made available.Identifies and obtains training opportunities for staff to create an engaged, knowledgeable workforce.Proactively develops relationships across the organization.Ensures management keeps employees informed of pertinent business communications through formal and informal modes of communication and in a timely manner.Encourages employees to recommend ideas for the improvement of processes and procedures that are consistent with the company Vision and Strategic Plan.Ability to create and present professional communications, whether verbal, visual or written, whether for internal or external use.Encourages a culture and learning environment that fosters opportunity for continuous growth and development of all employees.Company Wide Responsibilities :
