The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life.
The Gift Shop Assistant works to support the Gift Shop Office Manager and deliver excellent service to customers, colleagues and volunteers. In the absence of the Office Manager the Assistant is responsible for fulfilling the operations of both gift shops at the Plainville and New Britain campuses. The position supports the goals and mission of the Auxiliary at the Hospital Of Central Connecticut.
The Gift Shop Assistant also provides optimal customer service to all staff, patients and visitors; demonstrates efficient use of cash register, processing credit card transactions and reconciles daily receipts; utilizes helpful sales techniques that exceed customer expectations and monitors and maintains inventory and shop displays as requested by the buyers and manager.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Requirements
3-5 years retail experience along with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience and staff training experience.
Ability to demonstrate supervisory and teamwork skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Proficient in Microsoft Office - knowledge of Quick Books a plus
