What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse position at New Brunswick Counseling Center?
New Brunswick Counseling Center is a CARF-accredited, non-profit organization with an additional office in Mount Holly, NJ. NBCC is seeking a Board Certified Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse who can provide psychiatry services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains appropriate standards and procedures for psychiatric and medical care to clients.
- Provides direct services to clients, i.e., psychiatric evaluation, medication, and psychotherapy.
- Collaborates with all staff involved with the delivery of psychiatric or medical services to program participants, including participation in critical case reviews.
- Meets regularly with program staff to be appraised of consumers' progress.
- Provides consultative and educational services to staff members in regard to consumers or current psychiatric knowledge pertinent to program participants.
- Provides documentation of professional services as required by NBCC, the NJ Division of Mental Health Services, Division of Addiction Services, NJ Department of Human Services, and Council on Accreditation, Medicaid, and other third-party payers to maintain licensing, accreditation, and/or generate reimbursement.
- Completes documentation according to agency policy.
- Utilize the agency's electronic health record system.
- Assists consumers with disability, housing, and transportation entitlement forms.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a Master’s Degree and must have a current and valid license
- At least one year experience of in providing direct patient care
- Must have prescriptive authority
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED:
- Current license in the State of New Jersey
