WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The IT Support Technician is responsible for providing client infrastructure (PC, laptop, PC / laptop peripherals, mobile devices, printers) support with minimal supervision. The users utilize a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to Microsoft Office 365, Windows 10 clients, RF and mobile devices, and network-attached printers. This includes monitoring Incident and request queues and meeting defined SLAs for incident and request resolution.

JOB DUTIES :

  • Provide users with technical support, responding to their needs and questions
  • Respond to technical emergencies and prioritize support calls in an efficient and effective manner
  • Problem isolation and diagnosis for all desktops, some server and network problems
  • Perform Windows desktop systems support
  • Perform ERP application support
  • Install, upgrade and configure network printing, software tools, AD basic user security set-up, and Exchange accounts.
  • Provide tier one technical LAN support
  • Plan and prepare technical documentation
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest technologies
  • Other duties as needed or assigned
  • WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

    Required Skills and Abilities :

  • Comprehensive knowledge of PC Hardware (Desktop / Laptop troubleshooting & diagnostics)
  • Knowledge of PC best practices for preventative maintenance
  • Experience with PC peripheral troubleshooting & diagnostics
  • Knowledge of Microsoft O365, Windows 10 / 11
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and verbal language skills)
  • Good documentation skills (ability to clearly and concisely enter detailed information into ticketing application)
  • Analysis & decision-making skills (ability to make sound independent judgments, e.g. when to escalate user issues)
  • Team player (experienced working as part of a Customer Support / Help Desk Team)
  • Proven analytical and hardware / software troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Strong work ethic and initiative “go-getter” attitude
  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • High School / GED or experience in related field or combination of both education and experience
  • At 5 years of Desktop Support or IT Service Desk / Help Desk in a fast-paced and high-tech environment with intermediate to advanced technical skills
  • To ensure a safe and productive workplace, candidates for this position must demonstrate a consistent commitment to safety. Any history of incidents, including recent convictions for driving under the influence (DUI) within the past two years, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine potential impact on the candidate’s ability to safely perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Outlook / Exchange account creation
  • Prior experience with Active Directory user creation and termination a plus
  • Proficient in major Help Desk applications
  • Experience with Apple computers is a plus
  • Prior experience with Kronos, Oracle, JDE, or Red Prairie is a plus
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Lift, carry, push, and / or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 40 lbs.
  • Operate office equipment requires repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, using 3-point contact on a regular basis.
  • HOURS & WORKDAYS :

    1st Shift – 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM; Overtime, Weekends, On-Call and Holidays may be mandatory based on business needs. Rotating workday / time off schedules may be mandatory depending on department / business needs as well.
