Maintenance Planner - Scheduler-South Shop- Shift 1

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE 

Assist Maintenance Managers, Supervisors, Leads and Mechanics with the implementation and development of repair manuals, coordination of PM work orders, and maintenance library. Will work closely with the Inventory Department to compile documentation and build a sound PM program. Assist mechanics with daily parts orders and the organization and preparation for upcoming jobs

• Review, prioritize, and plan maintenance log according to business needs. 
  1. Review open work order report to ensure PMs are scheduled and completed. 
  2. Validates that PM part lists are accurate. 
  3. Creates requisitions for parts needed for the PM and CM tasks. 
  4. Set up PM procedures of incoming equipment. 
• Responsible for obtaining job estimates which will optimize equipment and minimize cost and downtime.
• Responsible for creating work orders and following -though to ensure work orders are complete. 
• Provides routine updates to appropriate departments using Project Gannt Charts.
• Responsible for organizing and maintaining accurate records and filing system. 
• Maintain and develop a library of equipment manuals. 
  1. When needed update repair manuals from manufactures. 
• Provide support to other departments as needed. 
• Work closely with the Inventory Department to add needed parts.
• Interact with maintenance Supervisor, Leads and mechanics, to compile documentation to build P/M program to feed into JD Edwards.
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma or GED; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 2 years previous experience in planning Repair & Maintenance.
• Clear understanding of Ag. Equipment preventative maintenance. 
• Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record
• Work well in team setting

Required Skills and Abilities: 

• Ability to read, write and speak English with enough proficiency to execute the duties of this position, and adequately interact with cross-departmental staff effectively. 

• Strong computer skills and understanding of Microsoft, Word, Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills. 
• Ability to lead, motivate, train new team members and develop team to perform at maximum level. 
• Ability to work with minimal supervision. 
• Ability to step in and cover for management when needed. 
• Ability to read and understand equipment and repair manuals and understand equipment maintenance. 
• Ability to locate critical model numbers/ serial numbers from various machines.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sufficient mechanical skills necessary to complete the functions of this position effectively, and the ability to perform and understand machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Excellent problem solver. 
• Must demonstrate a willingness to learn new techniques.
• Good mathematical skills, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Bilingual in English/ Spanish
• Experience with JD Edwards Maintenance System

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

• May be required to sit or stand for an extended period of times during work period
• Environment exposure_ hot/humid conditions (95 ° or above). 
• Environmental exposure – cold/wet conditions (40 ° or below). 
• Material exposure – moving mechanical parts. 
• Occasional exposure to noise, dust, fumes, gases, airborne particles, and vibrations. 
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds 
• Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, using 3-point contact on a regular basis when assigned to perform work duties
