WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
The Supervisor will perform the following duties in accordance with GMP (good manufacturing practices) and established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). Failure to follow GMPs and SOPs could negatively impact the quality of our finished product and may potentially elevate a food safety risk. Under the direction of immediate manager, coordinates daily activities of assigned work force, shifts, and production units. Responsibilities include assigning and directing work, inspections of equipment, monitoring productivity, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Meets production goals for quality, yield, productivity, cost and safety; follows and creates procedures
- Identifies processing deficiencies and methods of improvement with management and implements changes as needed
- Supervises up to 80 employees including: production workers, master packers, graders, forklift drivers, and production assistants
- Directly responsible for the development and training of production employees, resolving problems, implementing disciplinary actions and working within the guidelines of company policies
- Takes leadership role regarding employee safety by enforcing safe practices, addressing unsafe conditions, and holding regular safety meetings
- Ensures accurate timecard reporting/attendance tracking
- Tracks line employee performance
- Verifies sanitation and maintain documentation
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualification
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent, from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Driver’s License
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Knowledge of basic mathematical skills
- Knowledge of e-mail, Internet software, manufacturing software, and Word Processing software
- Will be expected to work overtime and weekends when business need arises
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum two years previous experience in production facility
- Bilingual (English/ Spanish)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to ascend and descent ramps, steps, ladders, stairs using three-point contact
- Environment exposure_ hot/humid conditions (95 ° or above).
- Environmental exposure – cold/wet conditions (40 ° or below).
- Occasionally will be lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must be able stand for an extended period of time
- Must be able to climb ladders / stairs
- Must be able to work in tight areas that require lifting and bending
HOURS & WORKDAYS:
- 2nd shift (5:00PM - 2:30AM); Monday - Friday. Occasionally Saturdays; Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be mandatory based on business/department needs
