Requirements:
Valid IN Teacher License for Content Area:
Blind and Low Vision
Performance Responsibilities/Duties:
- Possess and demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to assist individuals and teams through the development and implementation of services and supports to meet the needs of children with visual impairments
- Collaboratively works with each of the 5 member districts in the Special Education Cooperative to provide direct and/or consultative services relating to visual impairments
- Serves as TOR for some students that have an IEP with primary BLV eligibility
- Participate in the evaluation process for children with visual loss. Utilize functional vision, eye reports, and all other relevant evaluation data to identify student needs.
- Be knowledgeable about assistive technology, O&M, and other devices to support students with visual impairments
- Serve as the ICAM administrator for the cooperative. Provide data to state, as requested annually, information related to the number of students who are identified as deaf/blind.
- All other duties assigned by the Director of Special Education
