What are the responsibilities and job description for the Database Specialist position at New College of Florida?
The Database Specialist of Advancement manages business processes for entering and retrieving data in Raiser’s Edge to ensure an accurate and consistent stream of business information. Monitors interface of Blackbaud systems software (Raiser’s Edge, Online Express, and Financial Edge) to ensure that data is moving effectively from one system to another. Responsible for fulfilling the day-to-day database information needs for New College Foundation staff and other campus requests as well as other requests for information, including work to maintain the integrity of data in the database. Responsible for assisting with mailings for appeals, events and other projects which support the overall operation of the Foundation.Manage data in Raiser’s Edge donor database to ensure record accuracy and completeness. Generate donor acknowledgement letters and gift receipts for cash and in-kind contributions within the required time frame. Extract mailing lists, monthly donations reconciliation and other reports required. Coordinate all aspects of the administration of Raiser’s Edge and support software programs.
Create queries, exports and customized reports for development and marketing purposes, such as mailing lists for solicitations, newsletters, e-letters and other communications. Coordinate with donor relations/stewardship on functionality of the database. Provide Raiser’s Edge training and technical support to Foundation staff.
Assist finance with resolving reconciliation discrepancies and annual audits. Process adjustments and corrections to donor giving history. Gather data and prepare reports and figures for Foundation staff requests, audits and surveys. Manage methods for ensuring accuracy, sufficiency and integrity of constituent and gift data.
Create, manage and trouble-shoot online event registration and donation forms. Record event participants for all events and activities.
Support the Foundation with activities and special events as needed through Paybee ticketing system, Stripe/Apple Pay and event checkout of auction items
Support role in database systems as needed in Scholarship Manager, Alumni Finder and others.
This position interacts with Foundation and College staff at all levels.
This position is regularly involved with and has access to confidential data and proprietary information which if disclosed improperly would prejudice the successful operation of the Foundation of the College.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent.Development professional with 1 years’; specific experience managing databases in the non-profit environment. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Skilled user of Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Office Suite and email systems. Experience in non-profit reporting, including revenue, donors, events, financials and others. Understanding of basic accounting concepts

Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
