What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician - Feed position at NEW Cooperative, Inc.?
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to the following:
Maintenance
- Maintain all facilities on the grounds in these locations and perform the necessary repairs should the need arise.
- Complete maintenance projects in the NEW Cooperative locations.
- Respond to maintenance emergencies, even if outside the hours of the workday.
- Maintain a service truck that is equipped for its maintenance calls.
- Work towards the ability to independently perform maintenance tasks.
- Aid the supervisor in maintaining an accurate and adequately stocked inventory in the shop warehouse, office, and service truck.
Repairs
- Repair grain shoots, augers, dryers, and other parts of the facility, primarily focusing on the electrical side of repairs.
- Place orders for repair parts as needed.
- Perform electrical, plumbing, construction, remodeling, wiring, and metal fabrication.
Safety & Regulations
- Work with supervisor to prepare for compliance inspections.
- Ensure that the facility is up to code, specifically electric.
- Attend and participate in all safety meetings as requested.
Building Projects
- Work with contractors and construction companies working on projects or the facility.
- Participate in upkeep of existing facilities and construction of new ones.
Other
- Troubleshoot to solve problems as they arise.
- Attending training requested by supervisor that will enable better work performance.
- Communicate and maintain good relationships with vendors, contractors, and facility operators.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be licensed and insurable to drive.
- Have or ability to obtain a Class A CDL (Commercial Driver s License) is strongly recommended.
- Journeyman electrical certification is strongly recommended.
- Master electrician certification is encouraged.
- Willing to earn certifications as asked by supervisor.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suit platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical work and understanding of electrical codes.
- Must be proficient in welding, metalwork, carpentry, and other hands-on skills.
- Possesses problem solving capabilities and understands the operational process of all cooperative facilities.
- Must possess an array of interpersonal communication skills for interacting with varying personalities, roles, circumstances.
- Must have strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to quickly adapt to a change of plans and coordinate those changes efficiently.
- Have background knowledge of electrical, plumbing, construction, remodeling, concrete, wiring, metal fabrication, and basic mechanics.
