Responsibilities:
- Implement a research-based, play-based curriculum that fosters preliteracy skills, social emotional development, and a love of learning.
- Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe and valued.
- Utilize dialogic reading techniques to engage children in meaningful conversations about books and stories.
- Incorporate phonological awareness games, letter and sound recognition activities, and writing exploration into daily routines.
- Facilitate dramatic play experiences that encourage creativity, social interaction, and language development.
- Supervise and guide children during play center activities, outdoor play, and mealtimes.
- Collaborate with therapists to support children with diverse learning needs.
- Build strong relationships with families through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and family workshops.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Connecticut teaching certification or CDA.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Deep understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Passion for play-based learning and fostering a love of literacy.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and therapists.
