Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional for afternoon shifts between the hours of 2:15pm-12am to provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities and special needs. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with DODD regulations.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation, particularly for those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Conduct patient observation to identify any changes in behavior or health status, reporting findings to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to all safety protocols within residential settings.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and vital sign monitoring is essential.
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to DODD regulations at all times.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including evenings or weekends if required.
