JOB SUMMARY: As a Transport Driver at New Day Recovery Center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of clients to and from various appointments, activities, and residential facilities. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle, adhering to safety protocols, and providing compassionate and supportive assistance to clients during transportation. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a strong commitment to the well-being of our clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Safely transport clients to and from appointments, activities, and residential facilities.
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle at all times.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations during transportation.
- Assist clients in entering and exiting the vehicle safely and with dignity.
- Provide compassionate and supportive assistance to clients during transportation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and other drivers as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, trips, and vehicle maintenance.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or concerns promptly.
- Follow established protocols for client confidentiality and privacy.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure the smooth coordination of transportation services.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in transportation or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to operate a passenger vehicle safely and responsibly.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor, especially when dealing with clients in vulnerable situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to client care.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings as required by the center.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in transportation safety are a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation as company vehicles may not always be available.
Mileage Reimbursement:
- Mileage travelled in own vehicle with fuel funded by employee will be reimbursed at a rate of 50 cents per mile.
Schedule:
- Tuesday-Friday 4p-11p
- Saturday 10a-10p
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
