We are looking for an exceptional General Manager for one of San Francisco's iconic cocktail destinations!
OVERVIEW
The General Manager (GM) is setting the stage - inspiring staff, sharing the vision, all while hosting locals and visitors to the city and providing one of the best service experiences in San Francisco. The GM will market the venue and find new and interesting ways to engage the community while not just meeting the budget, but finding new revenue opportunities along the way.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Cultivate one of the most welcoming spaces in San Francisco - a place to see and be seen by locals and tourists alike, ensuring a fun time is had by all.
- Recruit, onboard, mentor, train, and coach team members, oversee new hires, and track team training for a top cocktail program.
- Drive the culture of hospitality, guide and inspire exceptional team performance, and mentor both supervisors and team members. Most importantly, show how it’s done.
- Seek opportunities for enhancing experience and fostering memorable moments for guests. Act as a liaison to VIPs, Investors, and traveling industry greats.
- Continually improve service through observation, collaboration, and discussion with guests, staff, sales teams, leadership, and ownership. Host open and productive conversations with chef & bar leads to edit and adapt until the venue sings.
- Cover the basics: cleanliness, timeliness, and consistency; follow the laws and mandates, demonstrate the qualities of a respectful leader of a business in our San Francisco community.
- Manage all HR functions of the business, including weekly payroll processing.
- Find new and fun ways to ensure profitability - consider quality and community as key levers to pull.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, ensuring completion of all side work before and after service.
- Own the private and semi-private events programming. Ensure proper billing and reporting for all events.
- Oversee the daily workflow of the business - standards adherence, scheduling, coverage, service quality, budgets & profits, payroll, and tip sharing.
- Maintain an impeccable P&L. Ensure that both the kitchen and bar expenses are inline with budgets, and reported on time and correctly to the accounting team.
- Know the financial status of the operation at all times. Be able to assess shortcomings or unexpected success and adapt within the period accordingly.
- Build team capability, knowledge, and resources to meet short and long-term objectives.
- Develop innovative solutions to enhance communication of guest and service information.
- Collaborate with ownership to develop annual and quarterly business goals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least three (3) years of Food & Beverage management experience required.
- Lifestyle / luxury hotel experience a plus.
- Event execution experience a plus.
- SF restaurant experience preferred, opening experience a plus.
- SF Department of Health certification (obtained at hire or shortly thereafter).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, push, pull, stand, walk, talk, or hear.
- Frequently required to use hands to handle, or feel objects.
- Long hours sometimes required to include weekends and holidays.
- Medium work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
