Schedule:
Tuesday-Saturday, 40 Hours a Week
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Addiction Counseling/Case Management
- Provides addiction counseling in both individual and group environments, meeting with clients on assigned caseload individually on a weekly basis to address addiction issues and facilitating didactic and process groups per the clinical schedule
- Assists the client with addressing case management needs (housing, employment, etc.), including coordination of any legal related concerns
- Effectively communicates with families, referral sources, and relevant third parties when consents permit, providing clinical recommendations, progress updates, and continuing care recommendations
- Responsible for developing continuing care plans that support clients in achieving our mission, in addition to completing all relevant documentation (Discharge and Transition Plan, Discharge Summary, etc.)
- Meets with new clients while in detox and provides Orientation to the program
- Participates in Family Group and On Call rotations
- Completes required documentation in a comprehensive and timely manner, always being mindful to document to medical necessity
- Enforces rules of the facility and implements consequences when needed
- Maintains client pass requests, submitting to the multidisciplinary team for approval at weekly meetings
- Provides crisis intervention
- The case manager is an active participant of the multidisciplinary clinical treatment team
- Training/Miscellaneous/Other
- Assist with Alumnae engagement and responsibilities
- Willing to accept special projects as assigned
- Must attend assigned mandatory clinical and all staff trainings including Essential Learning
Qualifications
Skills/ Special Requirements:
- Must possess State of California Counseling Credential

Bachelor's Degree in related field is preferred

Minimum of 2 years' experience in the field is required

Must possess current California driver’s license or Identification Card.

Must possess a current CADC II Certification or similar credential or receive one in the allotted timeframe.

Must possess or obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications within 15 days of accepting the position

Clear Probation Check with Orange County Probation prior to employment starting.

Must have sensitivity to and ability to embrace individuals of different genders, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, physical abilities and those with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Attendance in appropriate support groups is required, as directed by supervisor, in order to gain a better perception of the disease they will be working around or with on a daily basis in order to model 12 step principles. (AA, NA, OA, Al-Anon, etc.)

Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstance warrants such action.

Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.

TB test to be conducted yearly or be verified by a physician.
