JOB SUMMARY:  

The Human Resource Staffing Specialist position is a supervisory-level, autonomous role requiring considerable time, effort, professionalism, independence, ingenuity, collaboration, efficiency, integrity, coordination, and determination. The individual who fills this role must be willing and able to fulfill the entire suite of duties, goals, and responsibilities of this position with little to no daily guidance, direction and supervision. This position will require extensive and continuous communication with company management and employees as well as vendors, service providers, equipment manufacturers, insurance providers as well as many other entities.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:   
    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
  • Experience:  
    • 2 years’ experience in a similar human resources related role managing staffing, onboarding, and recruitment.
    • Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook). ADP experience preferred.
    • Must be highly personable with the ability to effectively and efficiently convey information to a broad array of individuals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist employees with all workplace questions and concerns.
  • Manage and oversee the entire staffing process from start to finish (i.e. recruitment, hiring, onboarding, termination, etc.).
  • Manage and maintain all recruiting related programs, software, accounts, databases and initiatives as directed.
  • Design, manage and oversee employee development, engagement, and retention programs.
  • Continuously coordinate and communicate with company management.
  • Staff the companies dedicated HR phone number.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and respectful manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all employees.
  • Must complete and submit any and all measurables and/or reports as required.
  • Must occasionally travel as required to successfully fulfill the duties of this position.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Other duties as assigned and relevant to position.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:  

  • General knowledge of Human Resource principles, practices and processes including current Federal and State laws, statutes, regulations, policies.
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA exposure control program. 
  • Ability to work constructively with vendors and customers.
  • General knowledge of office routines and functions is sufficient to refer visitors and telephone calls and to route correspondence.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications; skill in gathering, analyzing and evaluating data. 
  • Ability to exercise initiative, apply and adapt policies, principles and techniques to solve everyday problems and deal with a variety of situations. 
  • Ability to develop short and long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management staff, other employees, and the general public. 
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of business and personnel information. 
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations, communicate in a clear, effective, and positive manner in oral and written form.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. 
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply company policies and procedures. 
  • Ability to type and be proficient in the use of computer and office equipment. 
  • Ability to use accuracy in the identification and reporting of data. 
  • The employee filling this position will be expected to be readily available by phone and/or in person Monday through Friday.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Generally, the employee filling this position will be expected to work in the office.
  • The workplace is in a smoke-free environment.  
  • PPE is required and must be worn as instructed on mill sites. 
  • Must adhere to all safety requirements.
  • Occasionally required to travel alone on business travel for durations up to one week in length.

    • Ensure staff are properly trained and capable of completing assigned tasks effectively and efficiently.
    • Maintain and distribute reports and information as required.
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, customers, vendors, and the public.
