JOB SUMMARY:
The Safety Supervisor position is a supervisory-level, autonomous role requiring considerable time, effort, professionalism, independence, ingenuity, collaboration, efficiency, integrity, coordination, and determination. The individual who fills this role must be willing and able to fulfill the entire suite of duties, goals, and responsibilities of this position with little to no daily guidance, direction and supervision. This position will require extensive and continuous communication with company management and employees as well as vendors, service providers, equipment manufacturers, insurance providers as well as many other entities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety or related field.
- Experience:
- 3 years’ experience working within an EHS program covering the operation of heavy equipment.
- 1 years supervisory experience.
- Highly competent with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Advanced ability to write and communicate technically.
- Certificate/Licensure:
- Valid driver's license.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the EHS Manager with developing and implementing written health and safety policies, procedures and programs for the entire company.
- Effectively and routinely train company staff on health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Continuously monitor and inspect all areas of the company to ensure compliance with existing health and safety policies and procedures.
- Regularly inspect all areas of the company to identify and address all safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Understand and enforce all applicable regulatory requirements and industry standard best practices.
- Assist with incident investigations and related communications, actions, and responses.
- Assist with all company partners, vendors, suppliers and agents performing tasks related to environment, health and safety.
- Assist with the company’s environmental, health and safety databases, software and third-party programs.
- Must complete and submit any and all measurables and/or reports as required.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
- Safe driving record.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- General knowledge of the principles, practices and processes including current Federal and State laws, statutes, regulations, policies.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Generally, the employee filling this position will be expected to be present at the project location for an 8-hour shift and/or as directed by the Project Manager. May work extended hours including weekends and holidays.
- The employee filling this position will be expected to be readily available by phone and/or in person, 24/7/365, as required.
- Job functions will be carried out in a vast array of environments including but not limited to maintenance facilities, job sites, customer facilities, vehicles, agricultural sites, landfills, end user facilities, etc.
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
- Ability to push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Pace varies from moderate to heavy activity; flexibility is important.
- The workplace is in a smoke-free environment.
- PPE is required and must be worn as instructed.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
- 100% - Assist the EHS Manager with project safety operations:
- Ensure staff are properly trained in all safety compliances and capable of completing assigned tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Provide feedback on the necessary equipment and supplies to complete the required tasks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain and distribute reports and information as required.
- Monitor and ensure that project operations comply with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, customers, vendors, and the public.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBIITIES:
- Reports directly to the EHS Manager.
- The Safety Supervisor assists the EHS Manager with supervisory responsibilities as directed.
