Securities Portfolio Manager
The Securities Portfolio Manager is accountable for overseeing the Bank’s investment securities portfolio, including the selection, analysis, execution of trades, ongoing monitoring, and reporting. This role ensures compliance with board-directed investment guidelines, policies, and procedures. The position supports the selection of eligible investment instruments across multiple credit sectors and securitized structures, with a primary focus on CLOs, CMBSs, ABSs, and CRE-CLOs. Reporting to both the Senior Investment Officer and the Chief Financial Officer, this role is critical to maintaining portfolio performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with Syndication and Trading desks at agent banks to source new deals and engage in secondary market trading.
- Execute transactions as directed by the Senior Investment Officer, ensuring smooth securities settlement and funding.
- Prepare and present portfolio metrics for reporting to the Asset and Liability Committee and the Board of Directors.
- Uphold and promote the organization’s culture and values.
- Manage relationships with key vendors, including Bond Accounting, Bloomberg, and ClearPar.
- Ensure strict adherence to the Bank’s written policies and procedures, and compliance with all relevant banking laws and regulations.
- Cross-train with the Treasury Officer to serve as backup when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Competencies:
- Master's degree in Finance required.
- Experience in financial services is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts, strategies, and methodologies.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to share information concisely and with purpose.
- Ability to foster positive working relationships with colleagues, vendors, and other departments within the Bank.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel, report writing, and database management.
Salary : $130,000 - $135,000
