Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to support the bank and its holding company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks, including management and SEC reporting, governmental reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, and asset/liability and liquidity reporting. This role will also handle accounting responsibilities for the holding company. A solid understanding of banking operations and prior experience in this area is crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with banking-related reports, including Form 10-K, Form 10-Q filings, and regulatory reports like the Call Report, Y9SP, FR-Y6, and other regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Compile reports for the Asset Liability Committee.
- Prepare liquidity monitoring reports.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Record intercompany journal entries and manage intercompany account balances.
- Handle normal end-of-month journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial data reporting.
- Support audits by providing documentation and addressing inquiries.
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist management with special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and analysis requests.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA preferred with 2 years of accounting experience, ideally in a corporate or banking environment (public/private mix preferred).
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
- Ability to prepare reports using Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of reconciliation, intercompany accounting, and journal entry preparation.
- Familiarity with banking operations and regulatory reporting is a plus.
- In-depth understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
