Treasury Specialist
The Treasury Specialist is responsible for managing the Bank’s daily cash flow, liquidity, and short-term financing activities. This role ensures that the Bank’s financial position is optimized, with a focus on maintaining adequate liquidity, managing cash resources, and supporting the treasury functions effectively. The Treasury Specialist will work closely with other departments to monitor and analyze cash movements, identify funding requirements, and assist in the execution of treasury strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily cash management operations, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and manage cash positions, forecasting cash inflows and outflows to ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Support the execution of short-term borrowing and lending strategies, including managing relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
- Analyze and recommend appropriate funding strategies to meet the Bank’s financial goals.
- Reconcile cash balances and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of cash flow forecasts and liquidity reports for management and regulatory purposes.
- Ensure compliance with treasury policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
- Assist in managing the Bank’s investment portfolio and short-term investment strategies.
- Collaborate with accounting and other departments to streamline cash and treasury processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) and senior management.
- Support the treasury team with ad hoc projects and analysis as needed.
Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
- 1-3 years of experience in treasury, finance, or a related area preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, cash management, and liquidity management.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with treasury management software is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements related to treasury functions is a plus.
