Are you a seasoned land acquisition professional ready to make a significant impact on the renewable energy industry? New Energy Equity, a leading developer of community solar projects, is seeking a dynamic Manager, Land Origination to join our team. As a key leader, you will play a pivotal role in securing land rights for our growing portfolio of solar projects. You'll leverage your expertise in land acquisition, negotiation, and project development to grow the development pipeline.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Land Acquisition:
- Negotiate and secure solar land lease agreements to support project development goals.
- Identify and manage third party land acquisition resources to support growth in assigned markets.
- Assist in obtaining curative agreements, easements, and other necessary documentation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with landowners, local officials, and stakeholders.
- Mentor members of the Land Origination team to provide guidance on best practices.
- Track and report on land acquisition progress and performance metrics.
Project Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and assess potential project sites.
- Support permitting and development efforts by attending key stakeholder meetings.
- Assist in obtaining necessary project documentation.
Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance and support to team members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of direct experience in land leasing/acquisition activities.
- 1 year of renewables experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree, JD, MBA, or Real Estate license preferred.
- RPL or CPL certification (American Association of Professional Landmen) preferred.
- Local Notary license preferred or ability to obtain one.
What You Need to be Successful:
- Expert-level knowledge of land, legal, and negotiation principles.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with landowners and stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Expectations:
- Ability to travel at least (25-50%) to support land acquisition and development efforts.
- This is a hybrid role with the option to be based out of our Annapolis, MD, Roseville, MN, Boulder, CO, or Horseheads, NY offices.

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $90,000-125,000, encompassing base pay, potential incentive target opportunity, and additional commission eligibility. This range is a good faith estimate based on the position's requirements. Specific compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary depending on factors such as relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
