EDUCATION
BS in Business, Engineering, or STEM field from an accredited college/university; MBA or MA/MS in Mechanincal Engineering or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 10 years of supply chain experience, with at least five years
of Supply Chain Management experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in ERP Systems, Syspro preferred but not required
- Experience in executing a structured Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning System
SKILLS
This role involves overseeing Materials Management, SIOP, Purchasing, and Shipping & Receiving. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

- Significant project management experience, particularly in the surface coating and surface modification industries.
- Established network of contacts within Aerospace, Defense, and supporting supply chain sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain supply chain relationships effectively.
- In-depth understanding of Aerospace regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Materials Management / SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning)
- Own and manage the SIOP process.
- Use the ERP system to schedule and release production orders in alignment with the production plan.
- Communicate any known delays to the manufacturing or sales teams in a timely manner.
- Track material shortages and take necessary actions to resolve issues.
- Perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with the Quality team to prioritize material flow through incoming and outgoing inspection.
- Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, sales, shipping, receiving, and finance teams to meet schedule requirements.
- Support the Operations Director in achieving excellent On-Time Delivery (OTD).
- Maintain material and parts inventory, and expedite the movement of materials between production areas based on production schedules and order priorities.
- Review production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine material requirements, stock availability, and order priority.
- Collaborate with department supervisors to address overdue materials and inform them of material status.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including materials received, stocked, and distributed, using both manual and computer-based systems.
- Ensure proper record-keeping for material inventory, production records, and timecards.
Purchasing
- Manage communications with the existing supplier base and serve as the main point of contact for external vendors regarding manufacturing needs.
- Support the development of new supply chains for New Product Introductions (NPI), including supplier selection as needed.
- Assist in the development of processes and customer approvals.
- Conduct process capability and MRL (Manufacturing Readiness Level) assessments.
- Plan for rate readiness and process improvements.
- Create and implement a business model for insourcing.
- Procure machinery for insourced special processes with appropriate approvals.
- Maintain a list of qualified suppliers for customer-approved processes.
Shipping & Receiving Management
- Supervise the Shipping/Receiving team to ensure accurate product packaging and handling of materials.
- Ensure all customer-specific quality procedures are understood and followed.
- Oversee the shipping and receiving of parts in the manufacturing software system and complete all associated paperwork.
- Coordinate the scheduling of deliveries to vendors and prioritize tasks.
- Organize pickups for road processes when needed.
- Generate receivers and relevant paperwork for completed parts.
- Distribute materials to requisitioning departments.
- Work with Purchasing and Accounts Receivable to close purchase orders.
- Schedule and ship materials returned to vendors.
- Process, schedule, and ship items from various departments to the appropriate destinations.
- Maintain accurate records and files for shipments and materials.
- Assist with moving parts and carts within the shop as necessary.
- Identify and report faulty operations, defective materials, and any unusual circumstances to management.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and ensure the proper upkeep of equipment.
