Temporary Membership Sales Associate

Primary Responsibilities

The New England Aquarium is looking for a Seasonal Membership Associate to promote membership sales to Aquarium visitors. This position involves engaging with visitors both inside the main building lobby and outdoors on the plaza, as well as contacting past Aquarium members or recent visitors to encourage membership and respond to inquiries about membership.

Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site, temporary position. The schedule will be five days a week and is flexible on the days worked. One weekend workday per week is required. The hours will be 9a - 5p, representing a 35 hour per week commitment with a 1 hour unpaid lunch period each day.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you are confident working in a front-facing role among Aquarium visitors and staff. A professional and friendly demeanor is needed as is the ability to stand for long periods of time and adapt to different weather environments (heat, rain, etc.). Prior experience in sales, marketing, or customer service is required and the ideal candidate will have prior experience with Point-of-Sale software and processing credit card transactions.
